Welcome to the Official website of Tag-abaca National High School Alumni Association. Our desire to organize the association started informally. On July 2003, we float letters to 50 graduates citing the intentions of the group and asking their support to make the plan in place. In the letter, we write 7 names of alumni that will comprise the temporary sets of officers. After each name they would write the letter P for president, VP for the vice president and so on. After consolidating, it came out that I have the highest votes for president. My intention to do something for the school started in 1989 when we transferred to the permanent high school site wherein 2 buildings with four (4) classrooms was temporarily constructed to cater six sections. To be the pioneer batch who would be the first graduates at the new site was really hard, struggling and full of difficulties. During high tide, sea water reached our classrooms, we shoud hire wooden banca to reach the other end in the noon breaks, when it subside, foul smell spreads out the entire area making our studies difficult. We have limited books and other reading materials, equipments and other instructional aides.
On December 2003, we officially elected to office before the general assembly during our first Grand Alumni homecoming. In the following year, we had solicited P80,000.00 from the then Governor Robert Lyndon Barbers of Surigao del Norte enough to fill the ground with soil lightened the hardships of the students. We also chopped some amount for the tiling of the computer laboratory room. Concrete benches were also constructed along the school premises so that students could have a place to study during break time.
For the span of six years we did a lot of things for our Alma Matter. So to speak, we achieved our objectives, one of which is to help the school put up minor projects.
Now that we are officially registered in the Securities and Exchange Commission with registration number CN200726663, I am optimistic that we can extend our hands farther sourcing out funds. Next year, we plan to sponsor a scholarship program to those students who are poor but interested, intelligent and deserving but cannot afford to continue their elementary and secondary education due to poverty however, we lack funds.
Through this website, we are inviting our beloved alumni, the gradutes from 1981 to present especially those who were blessed to go work or marry abroad and other individual or group who are successful in their career to extend financial assistance to make our association growing. Donated instructional materials and equipments for the students are highly appreciated also.Sabi nga "Ang sarap magbigay kung meron ka".
Enjoy browsing and we welcomed your comments and suggestions for the improvement of this site.
My wishes and best regards to everybody. Mabuhay tayong mga graduates. |
